Pachuca is located in the State of Hidalgo, Mexico by the federal highway 105 and was founded
in the XVI century.

Among Pachuca most beautiful and interesting places are:

• The Garden of Art

• The Alameda (Main Garden)

• The Bartolome Medina Park

• The Square of the Independence

• The Autonomous University of Hidalgo, built in 1758

• The Barreteros Market

• Las Cajas Reales (The Royal Coffers), which nowadays is the main office of an important Mining Company

• The Efren Rebolledo Cultural Forum

• The Church of the Assumption, built in the XVI century

• The Ex-Convent of San Francisco, where you can see the Hidalgo Cultural Center, which includes the Regional Historic Museum

• The Museum of Photography, a library, a bookstore, an open air theatre and an auditorium and the House of Crafts, where you can admire an excellent selection of crafts of the Hidalgo State

The main festivities in Pachuca are:

• The San Francisco Fair (October 4th)

• The Day of the Virgen de Guadalupe (December 12th)

• The Regional Fair which is celebrated during the month of April

Pachuca and all State of Hidalgo is famous because of its delicious meals such as:

• Barbecue

• Mixiotes (meat dipped in chilli sauce)

• Chinicuiles (red worms)

• Escamoles (spawn of ant)
