Coba is an important archaeological site in the State of Quintana Roo located in the southeastern part of Mexico.

Coba is connected to the rest of Quintana Roo state by a zacbe
or a system of ceremonial roads.

A stone cylinder weighing approximately 5 tons was found near the Coba surroundings and was probably used for levering the sacred roads.

In Coba you can see the interesting work of three architectural groups:

• The Coba

• The Nonoch Mul

• The Chucmuc Mul

Among the main constructions which you can find in Coba are:

• The Castle (42m high)

• The Steles, showing the feasts of ancient Maya governors

• Mural paintings depicting mythological scenes
