195 km away from Puerto de Veracruz, the Acayucan city, main head of the township of the same name, was an olmec enclave since 1600 to 400 BC. Tropical weather, with an average year temperature of 26°C, the old olmec town, served like a commerce door with the great Tenochtitlan, it belongs during the Spanish domain to Cotzacoalcos, until 1580 when passed to be the headboard of the mayor city hall, after succumbed to the first pirate siege.
