Catemaco is located 6 km from San Andres Tuxtla in the  State of Veracruz by the same highway in Mexico.

Catemaco is located on the banks of the beautiful Catemaco Lagoon, which is also an ideal place for fishing, diving and for other aquatic sports. It also has an island inhabited by monkeys
